Wooster Interfaith Housing Programs

Interfaith Rentals
includes four owned units and 16 HUD units located throughout Wooster.  Interfaith Rentals is considered permanent housing and is designated specifically for low-income people who just need a roof over their heads but, due to financial hardship, are unable to afford it.

FAITH House, Families Active in Transitional Housing
consists of six apartments on the second story of WIHC headquarters.  FAITH House provides the opportunity to focus on self-set goals towards independence while temporarily alleviating the financial strain of providing housing.

HELP House
features six units for homeless women and their children under 18 years of age.  It is a safety net for women coming out of domestic violence situations or shelters and are not yet self-sufficient.  The program enables women to search for jobs or return to school without undue financial pressure.

Turning Point
a supportive six-month program that specifically helps the income-earning homeless pay their rent and security deposit on
independent units.  The program decreases the aid amount over that time period as the client becomes more self-sufficient and offers weekly budget
information and referral.
